After growing up on a farm in east central Missouri and proudly serving our country in the United States Air Force, Dr. Nie graduated with his DVM (1988) from the University of Missouri and a MS (1993) and PhD (1994) from the University of Minnesota. He completed clinical residencies at the University of Minnesota (Large Animal Theriogenology) and Oklahoma State University (Equine Internal Medicine). He is also a diplomate in three veterinary medical specialties including the American College of Theriogenologists (ACT), the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM).

Having practiced conventional veterinary medicine for many years but wanting to provide more for his patients, Dr. Nie pursued his longtime interest in complementary and alternative veterinary medical (CAVM) care. Completing training and certifications in Animal Chiropractic and Veterinary Medical Acupuncture, he now focuses on integrating these and many other modalities with conventional care to help his patients utilize their own innate ability to heal and optimize health. Practicing Integrative Veterinary Medicine (IVM), Dr. Nie brings together a truly unique combination of experience and expertise for his patients’ benefit.

Dr. Nie completed acupuncture training through the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians training program, the only veterinary acupuncture training program dedicated to training acupuncture from a scientific, evidence-based standpoint. He completed chiropractic training through the Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic and is certified with the International Veterinary Chiropractic Associations (IVCA). Additionally, Dr. Nie also maintains membership in a number of professional organizations including the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA), American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), and Society for Theriogenology (SFT).

Dr. Nie is also a Certified Magna Wave Practitioner and provides PEMF for people and animals. A very natural yet cutting edge technology, Magna Wave is the most effective PEMF therapy available.

Dr. Nie would be pleased to talk with you or your veterinarian about how chiropractic, acupuncture or other IVM care can benefit your horse, dog, cat or other animal.
